Karen Richter-Hall graduated from Deering High School in Portland, Maine in 1977 and then earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Simmons College, Boston in 1981. While applying to Tufts School of Veterinary Medicine, she worked as a laboratory technician at The Children’s Hospital in Boston, as a veterinary technician at The Commonwealth Veterinary Hospital in Newton, Massachusetts, and as an assistant herdsman at a dairy farm in Hardwick, Massachusetts.
Dr. Katie Erswell graduated from Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine in 2002. She loves seeing all the dogs and cats that need care. In addition she is well-known for her love of ferrets. She owned ferrets for 22 years and has now practiced caring for them as a doctor for another 20 years. She also enjoys rabbits, rats and guinea pigs as well. She is a Mainer who moved around as she grew up and then returned to Maine for undergrad in Business at USM. After working in advertising, she returned to school to get her veterinary degree and then moved back to Maine and started a family.
